This is a fair price for a little extra peace of mind. The pills come in individual foil packaging inside a thin plastic wrapper. I can see that all the pills are there and the foil undamaged through the plastic, and read the instructions on the card inside, which gives clear and easy to understand instructions. For an adult, one pill per day is needed, and they give instructions on dosage for children and infants, as well as suggestions for how to give a dose to a child or infant. I recommend taking a look at the instructions, as they provide important storage information: keep them out of light and store between 68 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
The expiration date is printed on the plastic wrapper. When I bought these, the seller guaranteed an expiration date of October 2024 or later, and what I got is set to expire November 2029, so I'm pretty pleased. Even if they were the 2024 batch, it's well worth the price if you live anywhere with the threat of a radiation disaster.
Most of the people in the US live close enough to a nuclear power plant that they should at least consider getting iodine pills. They're cheap and potentially life-saving.
